We have taken the toy drop down, but are not expecting the final pickup until Mon/Tues this week. We have a few hundred more toys for the last pickup of 2008. Thanks for everyone that donated to this cause!

We love doing our show and our efforts with Toys-For-Tots. We want to be able to continue this tradition, but we need all of your help.

Many of our neighbors have early sleep schedules and rise early to goto work. Please keep windows closed, radios at a level that can be heard inside your vehicles and keep yelling/screaming/talking outside to a minimum especially after 9pm.

Our neighbors are key to keeping our display in motion for years to come but blocking driveways and having excessive noise will ruin the experience for all of us.

An estimated 2500+ cars came through the neighborhood tonight to enjoy the show!

I appreciate all those that continued donations in toys and cash to the Toys-4-Tots Program. A reminder, we will stop officially collecting toys on 12/27, but any donations that appear will reach the Marines for late disbursement or saved for 2009.

I was asked to help change ABT’s Temple Lights from Static Lighting to a show! I just completed round one with them on Friday and their lights are animated nightly!

Lights turn on at 4pm and run through 10pm with three songs nightly. They broadcast on FM 99.9 and best reception and view in the parking lot right in front of the steeple.

It was quite fun to do animation on such a large canvas. Thanks to ABT for bringing me into their project.

The Marine Corp showed up today for a pickup of Toys and we managed to fill the back of their large pickup, plus overflow into the cab.

Traffic is starting to pickup and this weekend has been especially busy. Please remember to keep our neighbors driveways unblocked, turn off headlights and utilize only your parking lights and not to crank music loud in your cars to where our neighbors can hear it!

The final week/weekend prior to Christmas averages 2000+ cars per night. Beat the crowd and come early for a good parking spot and less traffic to deal with.

This weekend marks the weekend that we started the Toys-for-Tots drive last year. Since starting on 11/15, we have received hundreds of individual toys and $144. Much of which was donated in just the past week!

Thank you to all Alaskans and visitors alike that are helping in this great cause!

Today is also our annual official Kickoff of the Holiday light show! The show starts at 5pm and runs every night through 1/4/2009!

First few toy donations have started to show up in the box! Thank you!

Dry run of the automated program tonight. Looking good. Show this year takes 1:15hr to compile and another 10 minutes to upload to the controller. yeeesh.

We received our Toys-4-Tots Box and Posters today by our local Marines. Rigged up with lights and now placed at our front door!

Framework of all the songs complete, and polishing up details on a few of the complex ones.

Decided to go ahead with the Halloween show this year, inspite of being quite behind on the Xmas Programming. Alot of travel upcoming so hopefully the time on the planes will let me catch up.

Thanks to the Folx at Totem Rentals, They graciously set us up with a Towable 38’ Boom Lift which made life SO much easier this year.

Well The new batch of LED’s this year are a disappointment. They don’t fade well, and I’ve had an average of 25% failure rate of entire strings due to ‘FADE death’ ... The Manufacture has acknowledged the issue and is replacing all of my strings next year with a new batch.

Unfortunately for this year, Viewers will notice flicker and fades that are not near as clean as my prior years shows.

I’ve tried to ease alot of the fades to make it less noticeable, w/o sacrificing effects.

Dang “Made in China” stuff. : (

Gotta head to Las Vegas for a Conference next week. Hopefully I’ll get a little time to work on sequences during travel.

Lots of DMX stuff arriving, preparing cabling outside already and hardwiring alot of the DMX stuff this year to jacks around the outside of the house/etc. Make things easier for future years.
